A final-year student of Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife, identified as Kolapo Olowoporoku, has reportedly committed suicide.
He was said to be an extra year student of Computer Science at the university.
According to sources at the university, he reportedly committed suicide after failing his carryover courses – CVE and CSC 517 – repeatedly.
It was learnt that the deceased was a class representative and expected to be serving with his colleagues who had their convocation last December.
“The deceased took his outstanding courses in the last academic session 2017/2018 but didn’t get the minimum mark to bid the said courses farewell,” a campus-based news board, Socioscope reports.
He reportedly died on Friday after taking poison.
Authorities of the university are yet to react to his death.
